About Halstrom Law

A Boston native, Frederic N. Halström is one of the finest personal injury attorneys in America. He is cited in an independent study by Harvard University law professors as one of the “Best Lawyers in America” in Personal Injury Litigation and as a “Super Lawyer” of Massachusetts and New England. Mr. Halström’s law firm represents personal injury clients throughout the United States who have been victims of automobile accidents, medical malpractice, medical birth trauma, sexual abuse, product design or defects, and other forms of negligence.
Mr. Halström also represents clients in insurance, aviation, and admiralty law.

I came to Halstrom Law offices recently on the recommendation of my family attorney after my husband’s unexpected death. I had opportunity to work with Fred Halstrom who listened to my concerns, determined that I had a case and guided me to a resolution that allowed me to find closure.

Ms Halstrom and the staff at Halstrom Law provided outstanding customer service throughout my proceedings and I encourage anyone needing legal services contact her office.

Mr. Halstrom and his staff have been extremely helpful to me and my family. They got me a settlement against almost all of my doctors and went to trial against my last doctor, which is currently under appeal. Mr. Halstrom was always supportive and informative and I really felt that he was working for my best interests and those of my family. I can’t say enough good things!!

Halstrom Law Offices handled every detail from evidence collection to trial. My husband and I were protected from the sometimes downright dirty tactics of the doctor’s insurance lawyers. This freed us to concentrate on Jacob’s care. In the end, the doctors and nurses settled the case for $6 million, but Mr. Halstrom’s assistance did not end there.

Medical malpractice occurs when a physician or other medical provider fails to administer proper care to his or her patient, resulting in physical, emotional, or mental damage to the victim. In some cases, the provider may fail to properly diagnose a disease or administer proper treatment or medication. Whatever the circumstances, it is the patient – the consumer – who suffers as a result of medical malpractice.

When determining the value of personal injury lawsuits, Massachusetts courts, attorneys, and juries often examine two key elements within the case. First, liability must be determined. This means that it is the responsibility of the plaintiff and his or her personal injury lawyer to prove that the defendant is legally responsible for any injuries or damages sustained by the plaintiff.

Obstetricians who do not use proper surgical care when delivering a newborn can be liable for medical malpractice if the mother or child is injured during the birth. Common negligence cases include the misdiagnosis of placenta previa and the prolonging of the birthing process. Placenta previa can cause dangerous blood loss to both the mother and the baby.
